Before doing any firmware updates with the Bluetooth connected programmer, please verify that your devices OS (Operating System), App Version, Database Versions, and the OTA Firmware are on the latest versions. Be sure to put your device on do not disturb and it may be worth disabling the auto screen lock as well, as any disturbance to the firmware update may corrupt the ESC. Lastly do not move your device around while the update is running. Keep the device about 3 feet or one arms length from the OTA.
