Joes's FPV Corner
My name is Joe DiDia, I am a racing drone hobbyist – I enjoy drone racing and have fully committed my self to the hobby. I started building and fly quads in the early beginning of multi-rotors, more than 10 years ago, when we needed to use Arduino to program an OSD and Basic Flight was the only Configurator. We didn’t have 4in1 ESCs and had to hardwire every channel (no Sbus). It was truly the beginning of what you see today and back then we had no clue what we were doing, and good information was hard to find. So other than word-of-mouth there were very few resources to help us. So, I learned to appreciate those fellow hobbyists that offered help and promised myself that I would pay it forward. I am an Engineer by trade but not an electronic specialist or a Coder, though I do have some programing experience in my past. I have a passion of understanding “how something works” and enjoy digging into the science that supports our hobby. I also have great admiration for the OEMs and the “Open Source” Developers that continue to step up with new advancements. I enjoy building and tuning quads as much as I do flying them. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge with others to help the hobby grow, as I appreciate the help, I receive from those people that are way smarter than me. I’ve been asked before why not make your own “YouTube” videos and I haven’t because I don’t feel I am an expert of anything. There are so many great people out there now that are experts and way more knowledgeable than me. e.g. Joshua Bardwell, (https://www.youtube.com/@JoshuaBardwell) Mark Spatz (https://www.youtube.com/@uavtech) Chris Rosser (https://www.youtube.com/@ChrisRosser) Just to name a few. These are a few “experts” that where kind enough to take time out to help me along the way and there have been many others as well. This hobby can be difficult, but I have found that most people in this hobby are openly willing to help a follow hobbyist in need. You just need to ask. If I can be of help to you reach out on Discord – my handle is “JDRotor” Joe
